Liebherr crane climbs up tower

This is a powerful demonstration from Liebherr at the ‘Ratthaus’ in Vienna. As part of a tv show challenge, one of their crane operators uses a hydrolic crane to climb up a tall tower. Notice the caterpillars used to keep the tower in place.

It would be nice to have on of those in your backyard, wouldn’t it?

Karate guy tries to smash coconuts

But he doesn’t perform too well ;)  It makes you wonder if he even practiced the act at least once.

Seven year old boy from India roller skates under 10 cars

Watch this young Indian boy on his rollerskates, as he attempts to skate under 10 (what seem to be) Land Rovers.  It looks like it is all in the ankles and the speed, but still a remarkable performance!

World’s largest model remote controlled aircraft

This thing is huge, noisy and heavy, but manages to stay in the air quite easily. It looks like it needs two people to fly it, too.

No idea what type of engines this thing has, and what it runs on. Anyone got an idea?

Avatar rakes in over 2.5 billion USD

Titanic supposedly made about 1.9 billion, but Avatar is setting a new record after its 72nd day: 2.551 billion US dollar! Noone ever dare tell me the movie industry is suffering heavily because of all the illegal downloading anymore….

From boxofficeguru.com:

“[...]Audiences were still flocking to see nine-time Oscar nominee Avatar which eased by a mere 14% to an estimated $14M. The James Cameron smash became the first film in history to crack the $700M mark on Saturday, its 72nd day of release. The mammoth domestic cume is now $706.9M. Overseas markets witnessed a 25% drop to $36.1M boosting the international haul to $1.844 billion which is now more than the entire $1.843 billion global gross for Titanic. Ticket prices, of course, have changed a lot since 12 years ago. Worldwide, Avatar has now banked $2.551 billion with more to come. This Friday, the Pandora pic will lose a significant number of its 3D screens around the world when Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland starring Johnny Depp makes a colorful splash.[...]“
